How to get around — Most sights are within walking distance and walking is also a great opportunity to explore lots of beautiful narrow streets and archways. It pays off to wear comfortable shoes, since many of the streets are from cobblestones. If you get tired of walking or need to cover longer distance, trams and the underground are good options. The underground operates daily from 5.00 to 24.00, trams run almost the whole day, depending on location. Both means have very high transport frequency, in rush hours, you only wait from 2 to 10 min.
Fare: Basic ticket for adults CZK 26, discount ticket for children (6-14 years) or retired under 70 years CZK 13. Valid 75 min. Limited transfer options ticket (20 min/30 min) for adults CZK 18, children CZK 9. For more frequent journeys, choose one of the long-term tickets, such as: 1 day (24 hours) CZK 100/CZK 50, 3 days (72 hours) CZK 330 (Free accompaniment of 1 child between 6 and 14 incl.), 5 days (120 hours) CZK 500.
Tickets are available from ticket vending machines installed next to tram stops and at Metro stations. These only issue tickets valid up to 24 hours. Tickets are also sold at newsagents, Travel Information Centres, hotels, etc.
